I've searched and haven't found any info on the proper brace height. The bow is AMO 69" #30@28". I ordered a 65in. string and this puts the brace height at 10 or 10.5in. It shoots fine, but seems a little excessive. I know that most bows are around 8in. or so. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

From a 1974 Black Widow Catalog. The HF-1225 came in 60 and 64 inch limbs. The 1225 was offered in weights up to 65 pounds. The limb and handle color was satin black. The brace height for a 60" bow is 8 1/4 to 9 1/4 inches. The brace height for a 64" bow is 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 inches. The riser has a stablizer insert with 5/16 24 threads (#5) and two built in counter balance mounts with 1/4 20 threads (#6) The bow sold for $169.50 The Take-Down Bow Case sold for $18.95. Hope this helps.

That does help, thank you. So maybe 10in. is normal for the 69in. The limbs say 1225 and the riser was red. I don't know if that was an original color or not.

The HF riser was normally black. The TF riser was many colors. The TF usually was longer as well over 64", where the HF was 64 and under. Now that is my recollection and there could have been more differences. My take on the initials were HF...Hunter/Field and the T/F...Target/Field.

I must have the T/F then. Thank you guys again for the help.
