Getting a Black Widow PLV. I would like to shoot some cedar wood arrows in it. bow is 64" pulls 40#@29" I draw 29-29.5 the string is a SBD 6 strand. I would like them to be close to 31"bop. what spine should I get to try. Thanks

23/64 60-65# spin, 100 gr tip, 31" long. have some 125 gr tips on hand to try be close

I would like to keep them 400-450grns finished.

that's going to be tuff average 11/32 at60 # spin is going to almost weight that bare.

Might get by with 50-55# in cedars or Sitka Spruce, though I think you'll need 55-60#. Can get Sitka spruce a little lighter than cedar. Suggest a trial package starting at 50# and go up from there, 11/32.

I plan on getting a test kit to get started. I looked a Surewood and they have test kits.

My guess is that 50-54# shafts will tune well with 100gr points. I had a similar set-up that would. I never got below 490grains with tapered cedar, but at your draw length and efficient bow you will get good cast from that weight. - lbg

You can play with the calculator and see what effects what. I make my own wood arrows and have referenced it many times over the years. It is very accurate. Good luck.
