New to traditional archery.....have been shooting longbow since Jan......I can say that I am addicted. New to archery in general. Retired as RN in June 2013.... Started bowhunting (compound) in Oct 2013. Did one year of compound (hunting and 3D) ......put the compounds down and now traditional only. I may be picking some of your brains...lol. But, I will say this, I love the "traditional family". Learn something new at every shoot and people are very supportive. Marsha

Hey Matt....Mississippi Bowhunt......thanks. It was great to see you this past weekend. I've improved since Ackerman. We are going to Twin Oaks to the IBO World.........lol, I'll be shooting the Hunter's course....I don't think I'm ready to tackle the world just yet. Hahaha

Thanks for the welcome to you other guys also. I'll round up some pics if I can figure out how to post them on here.

Welcome Marsha,

this is my "North Carolina Belle", and stumping buddy

From: MississippiBelle
Date: 29-Jun-15

I like North Carolina Belle.......someone asked me why I chose that name.....I said don't let the name fool you. Belles, especially Southern Belles, may be sweet as sugar.....but we're tough as nails. Haha

2nd set of bows left to right: Bear Grizzly recurve, selfbow backed with snakeskin and my all-time favorite bow that I always shoot, my 21 Century 70" longbow............one sweet, sweet bow. Just not going to be very easy to hunt with....too long for my ladder stand and for my ground blind, so not sure what I will hunt with this year.

JamesV......we will be at the Tara Wildlife coon shoot Fri night July 10 and there Sun morning July 12. We will be at Yazoo Bowhunters on Sat July 11 Marsha. I probably saw you there just didn't know who you were. They put several pictures on their Facebook page.....Southern Traditional Archery Association. Sam Sandifer and Kevin Brown got me into trad shooting

Welcome to the Leatherwall Marsha! You sure didn't waste any time collecting some nice bows!

From: bigfoot1408
Date: 29-Jun-15

marsha... you are hereby directed to not relate the story of the man who shot at the stump and not the target at the coon shoot. harrrruuummpppfffhhh..... I refuse to admit it. and I still think I heard it hit the ring. welcome to traditional archery love.

From: MississippiBelle
Date: 30-Jun-15

Bigfoot1408........I can honestly say that the coon shoot was the most fun I have had in a long time. In fact, the entire experience at the Enid shoot and the Catch A Dream benefit was something I will never forget and I will definitely be back. Oh, and I definitely won't tell anyone about the man who thought he "hit" the target.......but I hit it. Hahahahaha.

ServingOne........I can truly say I have "an addiction" problem. Lol. The only bad thing about being retired......I have to slow down on buying some bows.

not true mississippibellelove, jamesv makes gorgeous bows at a very reasonable price, and I have seen some really good bargans come across the table at the zoo city shoots. just hang out with us retaredm tired ,,er,, tired,, emll out of work elders , we will bow you up till you get a wall full like we have, I have about 50 at my swamp that I have built and bought , 14 of them from jamesv. {I had supper at his house last night,,,,,,,finest chilli this side of anywhere} his spare bed room looks like an archerarial arsenal. {howzat for a five dollar word.} I'm glad you are shooting with us instead of against us, love I should have all the stats from the shoot today, pm me and I will tell who won the shoots. every one who came won a wonderful time, and the kids won a once-in-a-lifetime hunting / fishing trip to remember. and we meet some of the absolutely finest people to walk on two feet at our shoots.

Welcome Marsha, by the way, there is a very big event coming up in July at the Twin Oaks club in Clarksville,TN.

It is an IBO Traditional World shoot, but if that isn't your cup if tea, there is also a hunters range set up for us shooters that like a little less competitive nature.

It's a great event, July 17th through the 19th.
