So it looks to me like the butcherblock was made from only 3 pieces of wood...very different from my Kodiaks where it is made from strips about a quarter inch wide...very nice find

Not sure where he got the information but a bowyer friend once told me Fred had an employee whose sole job was to make scraps into butcherblock...I suppose that got kind of boring some days and this is the result

I had a 1959 Panda with a very similar leather grip wrap...the friend I sold it to believes that it is pigskin
