I have a question about the Silvertip takedown. I have been shooting one for about a week. The draw cycle is smooth and a sweet shooting bow. But the draw cycle feels much different then my previous bow. I am wondering if any of you know how the preload is set on the silvertip? It feels like it loads up quick when drawing the string back. Do any of you know if it loads up early in the draw, or later? thanks Arrowflinger.....

Mine feels pretty smooth to me. Not nearly as much preload as my Morrison ILF longbow. We will have to get together to shoot our tips and compare notes.

I have two longbows, both Tips. One is a take down and the other a one peice. They both seem very smooth to me and I don't notice the stacking as much as other bows. Maybe contact Dave. Good question and I would be curious to his response. Dave and Beth are great people and have always been open to questions and feedback.luck!

I'm not saying that my Silvertip is not smooth. It is a joy to shoot, very smooth draw. I'm just wondering about the preload. Doesn't really matter, just wanted to get some feed back from other ST shooters. And yes I agree that Dave and Beth are two very good people! They have built a great business from there great customer service.

W/ the bow unstrung, lay it on a flat surface w/ the limb tips touching the surface 1st. The more the limb tips are forward of the riser, the more preload was built in.

I've only owned one tip and it was a great shooting bow but the couldn't get used to the grip.
