Looked at the IBO web-page and didn't see any shoots in the South (FL, GA, SC, AL). Am I no seeing scheduled events? Is there a reason for this? Guys at my club have expressed a desire to shoot in an IBO event but don't want to travel to KY, TX, etc. (just too far). Is there a reason?

|
IBO is mainly up North with a couple of exceptions like the Trad Worlds in Tn. The ASA shoots are mostly in the south. Although they are a big organization they don't really cater to recurve and longbow shooters as much as the IBO. Unless it has changed all the stickbows shoot in just one class.

February 19-21, 2016, Ft. Lauderdale Archers in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl will be hosting our first(of many hopefully)IBO Trad only shoot. This was very recently established and should be a great shoot. 2 weeks later on March 4- 6, TBOF will be hosting their 25th anniversary spring championship near Ocala, FL so it will be a great time to get out of the cold and spend a couple weeks in sunny Florida while enjoying some of the best 3d archery you can shoot an arrow at.

longshot, thanks for the information about the IBO shoot in Ft. Lauderdale - I've marked it on my calendar. And yes, the TBOF Spring Shoot in March is excellent. I have attended it for many years and would encourage anyone who wants a break from the weather up North to come on down and shoot with us.
