What thickness (.50, .40, etc.)of Bowtuff do you bowyers prefer to use in the 45 - 65 pound range?

depends on longbow or recurve (wood/glass ratio)I use mostly 50 glass on recurves.

I pretty much just use .040" for all of my glass bows now.

I'm with Jeff...I personally use .40 on the back and .30 on the belly for that weight.

Just to clarify - 0.5 glass is half an inch thick, being 5 tenths of an inch. Quite a difference from 0.05 glass, which is 5 hundredths of an inch.

Glass/Wood ratios should change as draw weight changes. It DOES make a difference.

Yep, my favorite ratio of glass to wood is 0:1 :^)

:) I'm growing more fond of that ratio myself Jeff.

I was taught a little different. If your under 50# on bows 60" or over you can get away with .030 backing .040 facing. Other wise .040 backing and .050 facing for heavier bows. Your facing of the limb carries more stress and should be thicker than the backing

Y'all take care, Old
