3 weeks or so ago, I took delivery of my new Omega Imperial. I got it unfinished so have been alternately shooting, sanding finishing etc. It's 48@30" 68". I like it quite a bit-fast, well mannered and pretty quiet without trying too hard. I made my own string(12 strand D10) mostly because I prefer flemish and always make my own strings. It likes a stiff arrow, seems to require ~62-63# dynamic spine with an 1/8" strike plate. The sun wasn't ideal for the chrono yesterday but after a bunch of shooting I determined 186fps @9.2gpp and 177fps @10.7gpp. Pretty good for $390 delivered with less than 4 weeks wait. This is how it looked when I opened it up...

Still tweaking the grip and have some pores not yet completely filled. I'll get that taken care of later and buff out a good satin finish after its all tuned up good.

That bow appears to have a very flat back to the riser where you palm will meet the bow. I bet that will be very comfortable to shoot as a result. Please submit another response to this thread and tell me what you think about that flat grip.

I have an Omega Imperial 42lb at 29 inch 62 inch long. Have had it for around 4 months, I don't have the flat grip I have the regular grip. They are nice shooting bows, smooth , but mine took some work getting it quit, but is good and quit now. Mine is red mahogany with clear glass and black glass. Think I paid about $450 shipped to door and took 3 weeks to get it. Kegan is good to work with !

So many choices nowadays. That looks like a great little bow. Enjoy.

It is definitely a flat tear drop shaped. I radiused both sides and modified the edges to fit my hand better. The flat grip is comfortable and I think it keeps your hand from wanting to rotate. The edges didn't fall quite right for my palm but I'm taking care of that. I also sanded in the thumb rest and narrowed the profile just a bit.

I'd have to take a palm sander to those square edges just for cosmetic reasons.Glad you like it!
