Just got the Pika and the Toelkes have hit it out of the park again! This sweet little bow shoots just like my Whips but in a short little bow. 42@28 56". Superb workmanship and a rediculasly fast build time as usual:)

Awesome! I have some nice planks of Osage. Thinking of sending one to Dan to make me an all black Pika. Solid Black Linen Micarta riser with Osage overlays and black glass everywhere! Hopefully, I can pull the trigger on this soon.

Beautiful bow, but too short for my DL.
The 56" Pika is good to 'nearly 30" ', according to the Toelke site.
They have even added a 54" Pika now, good to 28.5"

Back in the early 70's, the Bear 48" Super Mag was listed as unlimited draw length. Very few people with 30" plus draw could shoot them well however. I would expect most of the modern bows can be drawn pretty long, but not necessary be very shooter- friendly at very extended lengths. I've yet to find a longbow shorter than 60" that is much fun to shoot.

All I can tell you George is if you get a chance to try one I bet you will be pleasantly surprised. I've owned a lot of longbows from 68" down to this 56" Pika and none were any smoother than this little jewel.

Thanks Alan, that's good to know. The more I shoot it the more I like it.The Toelkes have a winner here for sure.I'd sure like to see them at shows here in the midwest like Comptons, Kalamazoo etc. I'd like to see others get a chance to shoot these fine bows.

tso115, dan would probably send you one to test drive so you can see for yourself how it feels at your draw length. I test drove a whip about 4 years ago.
they recently posted a photo of a pika on their website with the classic grip. I have to show restraint. :)

No pinch whatsoever, but I only draw 28"A friend of mine was at the Libby shoot this last weekend. The Toelkes were there with a bunch of bows.He draws 30" and was very impressed with them.

Impressive! Those Toelke bows are very nice. I have a Kestrel (52" recurve). The guys at the shop can't believe how stable it is . I also have a 2pc, 54" Thunderchild that is a very good bow in a similar style.
Now go shoot the heck out of it!

In part to this thread, I ordered a new Pika this week. I went 56" 50@28 and draw 28
I asked Dan to pick the darkest Macassar Ebony he had for the riser and the darkest, most figured Black Limba for the limb veneers. Should make for a dark and deeply grained bow.
