I live in central Florida where it obviously gets both hot and humid in the summer. I know that this is a big "no no" for bow storage...certainly for selfbows and bows using natural materials. Is this a big factor for laminated(glass backed) bows as well?

I leave my garage door raised open a foot or so. Keeps the air flow up a bit. It's never an oven in there...not even in the summer, as the house is shaded a bit.

When I first moved in the bows ended up in the garage. It was about 14 months before I dug them out. They seem fine. Asking, because I'd love to have a bench and area in the garage where I could park the tackle.

I live in AZ. And have no intention of storing archery stuff in garage. I know air circulation will help but it is just to hot for me out there. I am lucky, have a small room that was originally for a golf cart. Now has AC and a thermal window besides a fan.

I too live in AZ. & have no storage. I hope some more people join in this thread. My selfbows seem ok but soooo dry and my laminated bow glue joints look good so far but don't know about extended periods of time? My staves & billets have dried to zero moisture, but I don't know about carving a new bow (too brittle)? If i carve a new one here in AZ, will it be a wet noodle in a northern hunting climate? Thanks in advance, John

I lived in Central Florida for seven years, and kept all my Bows in my closet. WHY TAKE A CHANCE ON RUINING THEM???

sorry man I think its best to keep them in my bedroom closet, a lot less humid in the house. not sure how long the humidity takes to leach in to the wood or if it does.

Dry enough here in Montana that you can hang em in the rafters of the garage and not do damage. It gets hot here but I am in and out of my garage enough to keep the air changed. But, I let my bows sleep in the house just like the dogs.
