Hi all, I'm hoping to learn a little more about a bow I bought awhile beck......mostly just how old it is. It is a Damon Howatt Diablo with the serial # EDS 4780 L54". From a little reading, I'm guessing the first digit (4) is the year of manufacture. I know the 54" is the length and the L is left handed. Also, it is 71# @28". Other clues are the black glass and it appears to be rosewood. Any help is appreciated!

Probably 1964. In '74 it would be called a Super Diablo. Very nice bow. Hope you enjoy it!

Ditto, '64.

Yeah, different decals, but the bows look identical. Verrrry interesting....

The info seems to point to my bow being a '64, but that decal gives me pause.

And I wish mine was a #44, then I'd keep it, but the days of me shooting a #71 recurve are behind me. I just rescued it from a thrift store, where it was strung backwards and little kids were trying to pull on it (the store had no idea what they had). My goal is to find some young and burly southpaw who can pull it and will appreciate it.

Just ask Larry Hatfield. he's on this forum.

Yes. I'm sure he could shed light on the decal difference, too. That decal on Buzz's is new to me.
