Would like your opions on Great Northern Bushbow and Lilcreep. I know best to shoot both for my self but would love your thoughts between these bows. Thanks

I've had the Bush Bow, Field Bow, and the creep. Great bows. Can't say one bad thing about them.

I don't know anything about opions but GN bows are a well made bow no matter the model. Did you mean Onions?

They are fantastic bows. I have had every model and have killed more critters with the straight handle longbow than any other. My favorite is the Bushbow 64". I imagine the Lil Creep is ok for short bow guys but not for me. Bow design can't make a short bow longer if you want stability. They will have some hand shock but put on a low strand string and shoot heavier arrows. I shoot a 46# 64" Bushbow with an Alan Shafer 12 strand string and 600 gr. arrows. The bow is plenty fast but stable, quiet and I would hunt anything in the world except for big buffs with that bow.

Fantastic Bows. There may be some as good but none better in my opinion. I have a Great Northern Critter Gitter Special that is all Osage with an Actionwood limb core. It's compact at 58 inches and is marked 58# @ 28. Awesome bow. Jerry is not making this model any longer so if you can find one on the classifieds, snatch it up quick. What is amazing about the Critter Gitter is the narrow, deep cored trapped limbs. Tremendous stability and delivers a fast hard hitting shot. I think of all the models he is now making, the only one with trapped limbs like the Critter Gitter is the Traditional Longbow. I think a Traditional Longbow that was 66 inches with a straight grip and his jackknife takedown system would be an amazing hunting weapon. Here is a link to a youtube vid of me shooting the Critter Gitter. You'll have to excuse my crappy form but you have to see one of these shoot.

Good Luck with your search!

Both models are my favorites. That being said, I've settled on the Lil Creep, but I draw 26". The 58" Creep is perfect for me. Ed's a tall drink of water, so he can get away with those longer Bushbows...;)

My draw is 29 inch, that is what I am concerned with on the Lil creep

just my opinion, but I think you would be way happier with the longer Bush Bow considering your draw length.

Barber, I believe that 29" is the high side for a Lil Creep. I own or have owned all of his bows. I think that you will be pleased and better served with Jerry's Bushbow in a 62" or a 64". All I shoot is his straight grip. Jerry makes a fine hand crafted bow. Jim :>)

Thanks guys , I am leaning towards the Bushbow but like the thought of the Lil creep because of its size for hunting . I have never shot a longbow that short .

First.....why don't you call them and ask them if your draw length is a concern. They will be honest with you. They don't want dissatisfied customers. They are very well made and have been for a long time.
Now...will you like them? Absolutely no one on this thread including me can answer that.

Absolutely give Jerry a call. You will love talking to him on the phone. Nicest man I have ever talked to on the phone. I called him about the Critter Gitter that I had acquired just to find out more about the bow. He made that bow in 1997 and he remembered everything about it. And even though technically I was not a direct customer of Great Northern and I had never met the man in person, he treated me like we were old friends and made me feel that if I had a Great Northern bow (no matter how I acquired it) that I was part of the family. Wonderful man to talk to! The one thing that stuck with me is he said that he makes bows for his customers so that they will last for generations. He takes great pride in bows that he makes being passed down to Kids and even their Kids. I know my Son will get this Critter Gitter and it feels so solid that I think his Kid will get it someday too.

He said he no longer crafts the critter getters as they were too labor intensive. I'm wondering what the critter getters have that the Lil creeps don't.
I've owned a fireball, critter getter special, and still have a 68" Traditional longbow. I think the fit and finish is a good as it gets. I love the straight grips on the northerns. They have a look all their own.
I would love to come across a used critter getter with the hinge take down system and of course, the straight grip.

Foxbo - the Critter Gitter has a more pronounced trapezoid shape to the limbs than the lil creep. I have shot the lil creep and it shoots amazing as well but nothing is close to my Gitter. That's one bow that is staying put.

I have shot the Traditional at a 3D shoot one time it seemed like a nice bow, talked to a man that has a Bushbow for sale with the jackknife takedown . He said he would be at the 3D shoot tomorrow and is going to bring it so I can shoot it and if all goes well I will buy it. Thanks guy's!
