For all you guys who may be financialy challenged like my self. I happened to start getting a lot of pass through on my old foam target and I work in the paint department of a fab shop we use rags for clean up from sherwan Williams and basically theu are just cut up shirts and other cotton garments. So I took our used rags and stuffed them in an empty box it's about 16 x16 inch square works great and when the box is worn out. I just take them out and re stuff them in a new box, take some paint and draw some deer vitals on it and start shooting no pass through even with broad heads.

I got plastic wrap that they use to wrap pallets of food behind grocery stores. Then used it as you use rags. Guys recommend it and it works well. My grand son and I drew a turkey on ours last night.

Great idea. I stuffed a target with some old jeans and other material, it works as good as any. Just curious how do you get your broadheads out?

You don't shoot broadheads into those type of targets! They WILL pass all the way through.

Best targets I have ever used are burlap feed/seed sacks stuffed tight with 3 mil plastic which you can buy at Home Depot. They will take literally thousands and thousands of arrows, are very light, no heavy weight and mildew if they get wet (I don't leave them out), and they are shaped like a deer body. I lay them on the ground anywhere in the woods, in front of a target, or tied on the ends and hung between trees. Plus they are cheap and easy to toss around. Try it and you will be amazed.

One more thing...you obviously can not shoot broadheads into a burlap target. Personally, I have had zero value practicing with broadheads and they will chew up any target fairly quickly. Practice with field points and shoot well mounted 2 blades and you'll be ready for any hunt. Some guys just like the reality and feel of broadheads for practice and if that works keep doing it.

Shrink wrap is great I'm on my third cardboard box stuffed with the original S W I started with!

I've used a box that a dryer came in stuffed with plastic shopping bags and wrapped in shrink wrap for quite some time.

I use the Croaker Sacks from Rural King..problem is finding enough plastic grocery bags to fill them up. I'd like to fill up enough for a small range so I don't have to just walk back and fourth to shoot.

May check with the grocery stores and Rural King for some shrink wrap, plastic wrap or whatever they may have.

I get my feed in a burlap like bag but its plastic. I stuff all the bags into another and they work great. add grocery bags mil plastic anything laying around. when the outside looks rough stuff the whole thing into a new sack. Never wears out just keeps getting bigger!

I do the same thing as arrowchucker. The local feed and grain store sells plastic gunny sacks or sand bags and they are perfect for re-skinning target bags when they get shot out. The sand bags come in three sizes so when the target gets too big to stuff in a small bag, just go to the next size up. I have four target bags I keep re-bagging and haven't worn one out yet. When one side begins to get shredded, I flip it over. They each have taken thousands of hits - no exaggeration.
