At one time that bow might have been called a semi recurve

I am duly surprised, as I have never seen my Dick's store carrying any "traditional equipment." X bows & wheelies yes but not stick & string bows.

Okay sometimes I am left to interpret Rooty to the world...first of all Dick is Dick Robertson of Robertson Stykbows not Dick's Sporting goods...the Wolfer is a bow that Dick developed to celebrate his 35th year of building bows and named for his interest in wolves and hunting them...this bow is marked Prototype #1

Congrats on a great looking bow. From what everyone who owns one it is a great bow. Too many great bows and not enough money :-(

That looks like a full working recurve to me Dave, not a semi.

George I realized after I posted that a semi recurve, like what we call a d/r longbow now, only had string contact at the nocks...on the Wolfer the string follows the limb making it, as you say, a full working recurve...thanks to my truck driving work starting early the camo Wolfer is going to be moving to my house soon...a guy named Camo Dave, who shoots right handed and left handed, really ought to have a camo dipped bow for each hand...that is my story, and I am sticking to it

Ghost we would love to see a picture of that one...and yeah, Dick has tended to build the numbered ones a little on the heavy side

Really nice bows from one of the very best bowyers around.Only downside is the price. To steep for me but if you can afford them an excellent choice.

You need to check in on the Robertson Stykbow site on a regular basis...they sold the Prototype bow for 700 dollars, a thousand less than a numbered takedown...the latest numbered one piece Wolfers sell for 999

Wow - you must have a lot of passive income to play with because if I remember correctly these babies run close to 1.7K a piece. If I landed one of those in Australia with postage and our low dollar would be over 2.5K. Good on you and well done! They look lovely. How much pinch do you get at that short length? Are they as accurate as a 62" bow?
