Hey guys, I'm setting up a chekmate crusader longbow that is 45-46# at my 26.5" draw. He bow is cut to center with a 8 strand SBD FF string. I want to use Goldtip carbons and hopefully keep them under 29" in length. Also hoping to have 150-175ish grains up front when I'm done. Would you guys recommend the 1535s or the 3555s? Thanks TBOZ

15-35 if cut that short,& might need even more weight up front.

Definitely the 1535s.

Will look into 1535s, i was just worried they would be too weak with 175r up front. Thanks!

If you check out the Gold Tip website you will see they have switched over to using the decimal deflection system for designating spine for their Traditional shafts...I am not sure about the rest of their lineup since those are the only ones I would be interested in...you are going to find that string will likely require a stiffer shaft than you think...the only way you are going to be able to tell is to shoot them...and btw if you happen to shoot left handed I know where there are a couple of brand new Crusaders for sale at a very good price...I almost bought one last week but then was offered an even better deal on another lefty

1535's.. They will fly like darts.

I have a 53# Crusader and I shoot 3555's with 175gr points and an extra 50gr brass weight on the insert... so actually 225gr up front. Oh... and 1535's fly well out of it too... So i think 1535's should be your 1st choice... buy some Big Jim Blems...

With the lower poundage and weaker spine torque is amplified loosen your grip. If you want to shoot the 1535 use the nock adapters With the 175 field points.

1535s but don't cut until you tune.
