What recommendations do y'all have regarding which fletching glue will work the best for me?
I just finished making a "cap dip" on carbon arrows using Krylon enamel spray paint, which is an oil-based enamel. What glue should I use for my fletching?
I have always used Fletchtite Platinum on carbon, wood, and aluminum, without any problems but I have never tried using it on enamel spray paint.
And just for the record... In the past I have tried fletching tape numerous times and frankly, "IT SUCKS!" I can never get the feathers onto the shaft in a helical twist while using fletch tape so I'll pass on that suggestion.

Duco probably, or E-2000, that stuff seems to stick to anything.

Duco Cee-ment. Ive heard lots of good things about Saunders NVP, or is it NPV, dunno. Anyway, one of those two. Trick is to use just enough and not too much. I like to use a small artists brush to spread it out evenly on the feather.

I doubt seriously that anything you get in a rattle can is oil based, an oil base would take several hours, even days to dry. It could be acrylic enamel or lacquer. Bob

I stand corrected... It is an acrylic enamel.

NPV glue. I tried that E6000 stuff. Feathers fell off. For me it was an experment gone bad. i was hoping it was an answer to having to pay top dollar and shipping costs.

I tried Gorilla Glue CA gel and that was a mistake. I also tested G5 Blue-Glu CA, which works great on inserts, but it too is worthless on fletching.
I tried Bohning Fletchtite Platinum on a test shaft after having painted it and I'm pleased to say that the feather is firmly attached.
I may stick with the Fletchtite.
Thanks again.
