I asked this question on that 'other' site a couple of days ago, and before I could say 'Jack Robinson', it was removed. I certainly wasn't trying to stir up any problems, my query was not confrontational - I just asked a sensible question. Have no idea why it was removed.
Anyway, I said on there that one of the bows I wish I had never sold was my little Turkey Creek longbow. It was absolutely brilliant, had lovely lines and was very fast. I only sold it because the handle did not suit my style of shooting. I have often thought of that bow and wished I could get another.
I stumbled across a thread from 2010 the other day on 'Archery Talk', stating that John Cooper had just taken over T/C, was fulfilling old orders, then would change the name of the company and keep making the bows. My question was, does anybody know what he changed the name to and is he still making the T/C bows today under the new name? I would love to order one.

I would hesitate to call myself a Bowyer. .... after I did my best to straighten out the mess with Turkey Creek. My friend and Bowyer Gene Sanders who was helping and mentoring me had hip replacement surgery, and has since passed away. When Gene had his surgery life kind of got in the way of my bow building. Thus the bow design fell by the wayside.
Thanks
John

I've owned a couple of the older TC bows when Doug had the company and was quite impressed with them. Unfortunately, his dealings with folks went sour and the word quickly spread. His name and bows are taboo on some sites, but I see a TC for sale from time to time.
It's too bad Mr. Cooper's plan did not pan out since my past dealings with him showed that he was a straight shooter.

John - thanks so much for that information. Sorry about your friend's passing. Looks like I will start looking at other bows that my be close to the T/C - chances of getting one now look pretty dim.
Blessings

John, I've always appreciated that you shared info of that local and too short-lived hog hunting opportunity. Sure was fun while it lasted. That bow that Kimba had sure was a beauty!
