I love my psax, but I love it more when I clean it down with alchohol because of the sheen. I was wondering who waxes their widow and if you have a picture that shows the sheen that wax would provide? Any drawbacks to using wax? Thanks for your input.

There's no draw back to wax. Widow limbs (like all glass bows) are wrapped in plastic, the wax won't hurt the riser wood at all. It wood be far less damaging than alcohol.

A coat of Johnson Paste wax for floors/furniture is a good choice. Can be found in most of the home improvement stores in the household supplies or flooring area. It can produce a bit of shine if many coats are used with a lot of buffing in between. But a single coat with light buffing produces a satin finish that will cause water to bead up for a year.

Agreed. I would "not" use alcohol on the riser.

I have a can of Minwax paste wax that I have used for years once or twice a year on the hunting bows before hunting seasons spring and fall, including two Widow longbows. My thought was it surely wouldn't hurt anything and it might help seal the few small nicks and scratches. I have used it on wood arrows, too, for those wet spring spot and stock bear hunts. Don't know if it helps but it makes me feel better when it drizzles all day.

I don't see how it could hurt but accohol may be a bit harsh.I wax most of my gear.Bows, arrows, strings. It becomes the first defence against moisture and may stop superficial scuffing and scratching. It does pick up apearance of a tired looking bow and make look as good as new. Well some times. Some bows need a refinish. OSR

Widow Wax is the same as Johnson's Paste Wax.

I didn't like the frost finish on my MAII so I put jeweler's rouge on a soft cloth and rubbed down the entire bow. It was not as nice as the hand polished finish but it looked good to me.
