I have a ragim matrix. It's actually a really good design of recurve. If it weren't for plastic limb tips it could shoot fast flight. As it is, the matrix is restricted to b50. It's been good enough to shoot through 4 arrows all the way through deer. I have a 38#er. I'm thinking about cutting the plastic tips off, replacing them with something harder and shooting fast flight out of it.

I have seen em. Never shot one. Never seen one over that 38# mark either, and thats right at the legal line for deer here

I have a Ragim Fox Custom Longbow 50#... It's a nice shooting bow.

On the lower end Ragim bows, I've seen my share of broken limbs and split risers. I prefer the Samick or October Mountain Products.

Have had my Ragim Impala for about 7 yrs and love it! Cracked one set of limbs but my fault, tightened down too tight. Bow shoots fast and hard with no hand shock. I prefer an endless loop over Flemish twist though.

They make a large range of bows .there is a standard level and a higher grade all at reasonable prices. They don't sell direct from their factory in Italy ,only through distrubtors.I have heard good and bad things about them.I decided to go back to laminating my own bows again .I think Bear paw/ Bodnik are a better choice for quality but cost a bit more though. They give a 30 year warranty on their bows. You have a 50# ragim? Hmmm... Is it a good bow?

Around here they are usually sold by sporting goods stores to cash in on the new interest due to the recent movies. And usually the only trad bows they sell. I think they are intended as a beginner bow to shoot in your backyard.

Thanks for all the replies...with so many broken bows I think that maybe a samick deermaster will be a better option!

Lots of Ragim bows over 40#. They make several models, and they make a lot of bows for other companies as well, and made PSE's traditional models for awhile. I've seen the Impala model in 55#. They are an Italian company.

I would recommend a Sage over the Deermaster. Better bow IMHO.

I have heard that Ragim is suppling the limbs for Martin's takedowns. Grandson has a Diablo that has a mis matched set of limbs. Torsional stability, if that is what the resistence to twisting would be called is about 30% less in the upper limb. It is much easier to twist the top 'hook' sideways than it is the bottom limb. The top limb has twisted a few times, pretty easy to twist it back in line, but doesn't seem to want to stay there.

Thanks! I donĀ“t know if there are Sages in the store, if there are I will maybe try them over the deermaster and the ragims to get a comparation.

I have a Ragim Impala Deluxe at #50. I also have a set of #45 limbs for it. I've had it for about 8 years. Just last year I had a limb delaminate. It wasn't abused, left strung, or overheated. Just happened. As I contacted the company I bought the bow from 7 years earlier, they wanted a photo and they replaced the limbs for free as I was the original buyer. The company was out of Texas, as Ragim is made in Italy. I like the bow or I wouldn't have the other limbs. I also have a OMP bow that is about the same. The impala is a good bow to beat up and use and abuse. You should be able to get one under $200.

Don't buy cheap imports because they are cheap. You get what you pay for.

Just saw a ragim riser let go today on a light weight take down.It smacked the young guy in the jaw.It apeared to be birch and maple .The glue joint seemed starved.Either squeezed out or poorly applied in the first place. It also apeared to be poorly designed as that configiration of laminates, whist looked pretty robbed the riser of structural integrity.Thought to be only about 2 years old too OSR
