I got a groves flame hunter in a trade, and have a problem with it shooting high.First thing a did was move the nocking point around didn't help, then tried different spine arrows that didn't work tried moving the elevated arrow rest around no luck.I shoot this bow the same as all my other bows,so my shooting form and release are good. What do you think the problem is? Thanks.

If the arrows are flying good and you are shooting high, it just could be that this bow is faster than tbe bow you are accustomed to. Another possibility is that you mentioned elevated rest. If you are used to shooting off tbe shelf and this bow has an elevated rest, your brain may not have had time to adjust. More details on each bow may help. Good luck.

Groves are fast bows. I sold them a while back and it took some people a bit to get used to the speed and change in trajectory.

Agree groves made some fast bows ,give yourself time to adjust.

Had same problem with groves spit fire magnum, switched to three under and we got along fine after that.

As above, if arrow flight is good, your brain just needs to adjust. As my shooting buddy Ted says, "If your arrows are all hitting high.......aim lower!" Simple;-)

You got to get out there and shoot a vatiety of diffetent bows more .I noticed a long time ago that all bows are not the same.My wifes 47#Sabo shoots faster flatter and smoother than my 60# York Traker can.If your Groves is a fast flat shooter then you just have to adapt your aim a bit. That Groves should be a kick a/_ bow from what I have heard about them.Try to work with it and I reckon it will come good. I got a Flame Hunter for my 16th birthday in 1967 at the Groves shop, and still have it. While a nice bow, it does not have the Dynastressed limbs of the Mag series, and so is not in the same class speed-wise. I would describe it as fairly average for bows of that era. I shoot 5 bows in rotation, 3 are Groves, and for me they all require some adjustment in the cerebral computer, especially if they have elevated rests and I have been shooting off the shelf.

There was a period in the 70's- early 80's during which some poorly made Groves bows were produced with tiller problems. James Elrod got the quality back on course when he returned in the late 80's(?)-early 90's. I will try to attach a photo of my Flame Hunter (green limbs) and Mag III.
