I have a set of short, 50lb, Gamemaster limbs. I would like to buy a riser that fits them. I do not know if I need to convert anything depending on the riser I purchase. I see Lancaster archery has some inexpensive risers on clearance.

I am about 5'8". Pull about 27" and would like the poundage to be over 45 but less than 55 if possible.

I would appreciate some suggestions of specific risers that might accommodate me. Please include riser length as well. I generally shoot my DH mamba barebow off the shelf, but would Like to try a sight. It would be nice if I could either attach a rest or shoot barebow in the future.

I would like the best possible easy fit for the limbs. Lightweight is preferred as well. Thanks a bunch for those willing and able to help.

So what leads you to believe a set of Gamemaster limbs will fit on anything other than a Gamemaster riser...ILF limbs are easily interchangeable between risers...the Gamemaster is not an ILF bow

Nothing. The guy I talked to at Lancaster archery told me I could buy any of the risers I mentioned ( excel, Dorado). Then he said any ilf riser would work. Sounded shaky to me, but I don't know. I thought I would ask. I am also not sure if Gamemaster is interchangeable with Gamemaster II??? I don't know if they will fit any of the cartel risers available either??

Your GameMaster limbs will fit the "old" Tiburon risers, Dorado risers, and the new GameMaster II risers without issue. They will also fit any ILF riser but you have to change the bushings.

You can get a 25" ILF. It will work fine for your limbs.

If your Gamemaster limbs are over a year old, they're shorts. With a 25" riser, you'd get a 66" bow at about 46#'s. If you get a 23" riser, you'll get a 64" bow at about 48#'s.

All you need to do is press out the GameMaster/Dorado fittings and install ILF fittings into the limbs.

Gamemaster limbs are interchangeable and are set up exactly like an ILF limb, instead Hoyt just uses a bushing in the limb, change out that bushing for an ILF fitting and you can use them on any ILF riser.

So Gamemaster II limbs are Formula limbs then, the Hoyt proprietary version of ILF, just like the Buffalo and new Tiburon? It is kind of hard to tell from the Hoyt website whether they are Formula or bolt on. I am pretty sure the older Gamemaster limbs are bolt ons. What we need here is some good pictures. The only Hoyt I have is a Desperado which has bolt on limbs so Mark it is up to you.

Dave,

The "new" Tiburon and the Buffalo use Formula limbs; they are not ILF.

Hoyt offers all their limbs in ILF. They now call them the Grand Prix series.

The GameMaster II and Dorado uses the Grand Prix (ILF) series limbs, but with different bushings.

These are what I have. Looks like the bushing which was mentioned is removable from the limb with an 1/8 inch Allen wrench. So If I bought an inexpensive cartel riser I would also have to purchase a ifl bushing set? Any suggestions on risers under $200? Will the fit be equally tight? Thanks a bunch so far.

Those are ILF fittings. Someone has already been using them on an ILF riser.

All you need is to buy an ILF riser and you're good to go.

Chalk up another one for the Leatherwall and Leatherwallers...that did not take long...turns out I really should have got on that "old" Tiburon that was for sale dirt cheap a while back

Dave,

If you ever run across one of those old Tiburon's, don't let it get away. The darn things are very stable, and built like a tank. They take any ILF limb with the change of the bushing, and would make an awesome hunting outfit.

Hoyt replaced them with the GameMaster, which was a more petite, and sleek looking riser. The old ugly duckling is bombproof.

Jim as I recall that whole bow was maybe 225 bucks and in great shape...I do not think it made the day in the classifieds...not as good a deal as the Desperado at 300 but still very good...and anything is sleek compared to it at 3.5 pounds
