Pearson made a lot of them.

That one looks like a pearson to me. bear made slot of them but that doesn't look to be bear.

I had a Cravotta Brothers bow that had glass that looked like that....?

I believe it's a Pearson from the mid 60's. When Sears bows had the "Ted Williams Approved" stenciled on the limb, it was made by Bear. Picture shows a 1964 Sears Archery ad from their Catalog.

I think it could have been made by Root...looks similar to a Kadet and a couple of other models...tips like a Shakespeare Necedah and Root made them.

Buddy Watson and Indian Archery made bows for sears in that time frame.

I was thinking it looks like Indian or York? Jeff F

God catch on the tips, those do look like root/Shakespeare limb tips.

Forgot to ask, what's the length and draw weight?

From: Pdiddly
Date: 10-Jan-15

Looks like a JC Penney Foremost and they were made by Root/Shakespeare...the lettering on those was below the grip on the riser...this bow seems to be missing the info...I'm curious at the length...

Come to think of it...it looks a lot like a Shakespeare Yukon.

I would go with Indian, here's serial number on my Hawkeye

Length is 58 and weight say 40# but actual is 47@28" this bow has not been refinished at least not by me. I dont think it has .Jeff

Then again limb tips don't really match.

Still thinking Indian. Script on the side of the riser looks like the one I had as well as others I've seen.

From: Pdiddly

Hmmm...I've never seen a Root with the information printed like that in that spot...Mr. Stout will happen along and solve our mystery.

From: Backcountry

I vote Indian. Very similar to my Savage.

It isn't BP for sure. I'll go with Indian as well. Nice looking bow. I like the green glass.

Here's some pretty good evidence that at least some of them were made by Indian Archery.

From: mangonboat

I go with Indian Archery...I dont know anybody else who used that color of green glass with the exception of the 1966 BP Hunter and one or two Colts made by BP.

From: Okiak

It was fun going to Sears back in the 60's.

From: Pdiddly
Date: 22-Nov-15

In spite of my earlier prognostications on it being a Root that lettering looks like an Indian.

From: George D. Stout Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 22-Nov-15

It's an Indian Industries bow. You can tell by the printing on the riser, and the tip overlays. Most companies kept their lettering system and just adapted it to all bows they made for other entities.

Pearson, Bear, Cravotta Brothers, and even Wing made bows for Sears back in the day. I've even seen Colt bows made by Shakespeare, Pearson and Wing. Usually there is a telling reference, but sometimes they can be tricky to ID.

Without a doubt Indian Archery. Tips and script dead giveaway.

From: Jon Stewart

I believe Bear bows made for Sears will have Made by Bear under the sticker. At least that what my Sears Flicker has on it.

Good looking bow you have.

Yep, and Indian has had a bad rap over they years. They made some really great bows but seldom get credit. May be a good place to look for starting a collection that is still affordable.

Larry from Lost Nation Archery collects old Indian bows.

From: papabear

I at one time had one of the most beautiful target model bows I have ever seen made by Indian. I do not know if it was a special order or not but it had such great craftsmanship and layers of wood I should have never sold it but I collect only hunting models so it flew the cage !! George is right you could start a collection of Indians on the cheap and cherry pick only the best.
