Saw a bow on classifieds. Only contact info for seller is his handle. Sent private message but no response. Seems to me if you are selling a bow you should have a phone no as a minimum requirement. If the seller never looks for private messages he will never know that someone wants to talk to him about the item he is selling. Anybody else have this problem?

Sellers have all sorts of different motivation levels as do buyers...when I offer something for sale that I really do not care if I sell or not I will only offer minimal information...if I am serious I will offer more...unless a seller is well known to me I always expect to talk to them on the phone before agreeing to buy...I have bought a lot of bows from the classifieds here and have nothing but good things to say...the only transaction that did not go well was my doing

Nobody needs my phone number unless I choose to give it them. No way do I openly post it on the Internet. I also seldom advertise my email address. Both of those are identifiers that I choose to not broadcast openly.

This is why I ask for my e-mail to be used and still get PMs? I can't attach photos to PM's no one can to see what you are getting or get a better look at things! If someone doen't answer you back do you really still want to deal with them it tells you something? If someone can't take the small amount of time to answer back then I don't want to talk to them either.

The sale is really none of your buisness anyways unless your a bussy body and need to know.LOL I have it and if you want it and this is what it is and condition and this is the price. Ya or nay it should be send it when I get paymenty then I send it and we are good to go.All are happy, happy.LOL

I think people make projects out of way to much.LOL

These types of threads go on and and on and on every day someone post things about sales and conduct and all sorts of issues.

An issue is what you make it. If you forget to put something in that will genrate questions and answer accordinly its only being polite.

If a seller don't look for private messages then they have no buisness selling anything. Its just part of it. So I don't have to keep signing onto site I want e-mail corresponce but won't deny answering a PM its only fair to the person asking don't ya think.LOL

This all should be easy and it could be if a little thought went into things.

Hey some of us who is weary need some rest to.LOL

The seller should be monitoring his PM's if he expects to sell his item. Frank

I like the way RymanCat does business. If he offers up something, he will respond and send plenty of pics...and he does not get too annoyed with "tirekickers".

If someone will not respond, move on. Another will show up.

They don't respond to PM's in a day or two, then forget them. Folks don't monitor the LW 24/7 so it may take a day to get to you. However, if they have a bow for sale, they should care enough to check in once a day to see if they have PM's. I don't deal with people who can't communicate, so two or three days is my limit on waiting for them.

It could be worse. Another popular site expects you to pay for the privilege of buying from their classifieds

What Frank said. I have started just advising to contact me via PM first and we will take it from there. This eliminates potential scammers to a degree. If im contacted, I can see automatically the history of the person and that he is/is not a regular contributer here. If all is good then we exchange emails and phone numbers. It has work really well so far.

Had a guy tell me to PM him for some info on a hunt and hasn't read his PM's either I guess. Maybe it would help if the notification that you got a PM was enabled again somehow.

Also, I noticed that I end up with two different log ins for the sites, one for Bowsite and another for Leatherwall. If I'm not careful I don't see the PMs unless I log in through the correct side of the site. It would be nice if we could use the same log in for either site and have all the PMs.
