Got the phone call this evening, Roland has finished my bow, and I go get it Friday. I will definitely have to post pics when I pick it up. Roland has been terrific in keeping me posted on progress and finished it way before I thought it would be done. He also has been very informative for me on just about any other questions I have had. Since I am still relatively new to the traditional side of bowhunting, not quite 2 years in, I still ask a lot of questions. I read the thread about custom bowyers becoming extinct... Well I hope he, and others, have passed on their passion and ability for bow making. This is a pic before it was finished.. Obviously

Here is the new Recurve. It is a lot more quiet than any traditional bow I have shot. Specs. - 49 @ 27 58' AMO

I believe this bow will suit me just fine, and ready for some woods action soon. I may have to work a good set of arrows up, but our general season doesn't close until Jan 4. Maybe there is enough time to get a few hunts in. -Bones

Got to shoot a good bit today. I will definitely have to play with some arrow spines, but was at least I am inside a 8" diameter out to 30 yds. Bow shoots flat. I'm just going to have to find what it likes. A 340 Spine Carbon isn't it. may try aluminums, and thinking of 2117's?? My arrows is just over 500 grains as is 32" long.

Nice looking bow. If you're drawing the 49@27, then I'd say a 2016 aluminum or .500 spined carbon, would be better choices......and a wooden arrow would look great coming off that bow, but I have zero experience with wooden arrows. Good luck with it.

since you mentioned ordering it in end of November to completion...whata turnaround time! pretty subtle shaping around the grip too. I like the quiet presence that doesn't scream for attention!

The riser is Bocote, The tips, extra piece on the back, and belly are Osage, Bodark to me. I'm not certain of the back. It had the look I wanted and Roland used it. Bow is fast and quiet. Much quieter then any bow I have shot before without any type of string silencer. I don't think I can be completely confident in myself enough to make the last few weeks of the season with it, but looks VERY promising for next season. Plus around here I'll try to stick a few pigs during the off season and get a better feel for the bow.
