I was at one of our bigger shooting/hunting stores here where I live and they had a Bear Sonoma. It is a 60inch takedown recurve that uses limb bolts to hold the limbs on and the handle that is wood. The catalog shows from what I could see it being made of two different woods. The one I had my hands on was only one solid type of wood and looked like lightly dark stained maple or birch, the finish wasn't as nice as the Samick Sage, the riser was very blockey looking, though the grip didn't feel to bad. Also the one I saw had a good size wood knot on the side of the riser about level with the butt end of the mounted limb, toward the belly edge of the side. To be very honest it really did appear that someone took a 2x4 (which I'm sure they didn't) and cut it into a riser The limbs had black glass, but the limb tips were very wide even for Bear and had black and white over lays, I am guessing phenolic so it could be used with high performance string material. I asked they salesman how much it was but he didn't know, he had JUST put it together and didn't have the price for it yet. This maybe one of Bear's entry level bows (for cost) but I was very underwhelmed with what I saw even as a entry level bow. Just wish I knew what they were going to sell it for. Anyway just thought I'd pass on what I had my hands on. DANNY

Looked it up on bears site 60" long and comes in 40# and 45# only, looks ok in the picture. Kinda reminds me a little of the bear takedown made in the 80's might be a import. Wonder how much they cost?
