I just picked up a dark green Bear Grizzly for a friend that needs a bow to start traditional shooting. Now I have a couple of questions for the Bear experts.

It is a 56" bow so I've got a friend making a new 52" B50 string for it.

It has a gold Bear emblem on the side. On the lower limb the emblem says Grayling. It is 40# and left handed. The serial number is 9R16189.

What year was this bow made? What is the recommended brace height? How is the brace height measured on this bow?

It's a 69. The made the 56" in 68, 69 and 70. The green is the glass color, the riser should be tigerwood but could be shedua as well. If the riser is green, then someone painted it. Brace from 7 1/2 to 8 1/4 to where it works best for the shooter.

Thanks George. The riser is a reddish-tan wood without much grain. Is the brace measured to the deepest part of the grip?

Yessir.

Sweet shooting bow. We owned one in right hand 56" 40#@28. Passed through three sons. When one outgrew it passed down to the next. All were successful with it. It launched thousands of shots before it moved on to another young bowhunter. Those bows have great history and value. TLM
