I'd love to hear (and see!!!) what you think of the new Sitka riser design!

I have a 62 in Sitka and I love it. I have had multiple 64 and 66 in Blacktails and loved them. I was skeptical about getting a shorter bow. I have a 30 in draw. I discovered the following...

The bow is extremely quiet, perhaps even quieter then my longer bows.

The bow draws and shoots extremely smooth. There is no difference in my opinion in smoothness.

The forgiveness is just about equal to the 66 in. However my groups at 30 yards can be about 1 in bigger if that matters.

It did take me about 3 weeks to get used to the different bow and shoot it real well. There is a slightly different feel.

I never thought I would like a shorter bow but now that I have one I would say for hunting either out west or Wisconsin it is a lot easier to get prepared to and execute a shot at an animal.

If I was strictly a target shooter I would get a 66 in but for hunting the Sitka is amazing!

Beautiful bow Paul. I'm really liking the looks of the shorter riser.

I've got three 64" Blacktails, two TDs and a one piece but darn, that Sitka looks interesting. The shorter riser is really attractive.

Hey Paul-

Thanks for the input. I also have a 30" draw, but have been shooting 2 Blacktail Elites at 62". I don't notice any stacking per say, but I do know that BT recommends I shoot at least a 64" Elite. I have a 60" Sitka on order. I figured if the 62" Elites felt good, why not go for a 60" Sitka - BT says they draw length on the 60" Sitka is good up to 30"...

The Blacktails have such a good reputation, I just haven't heard much about the Sitka. I'm sure it'll live up to the reputation of the Blacktail name!

Alan and Norm are two of the nicest and most knowledgeable gentlemen I have ever spoken with on the phone...I would go with whatever they recommend...they know their bows better than anyone

I have both a sitka and elite VL. In my opinion the sitka has maintained all the expected qualities of the longer elite model. It is a very enjoyable little recurve. I'll try to get some pics posted in the near future.

Blacktails are some of the finest shooting and looking bows ever made,I was waiting for something with a shorter riser to be able to have a shorter Blacktail, thanks for your reviews.
