Every bowhunter needs a good knife. For me that means an American made buck. When I was a kid my old man had a buck 112 ( smaller version of a 110) that I thought was just about the coolest knife a man could carry. It just spoke "classic" "reliable" and "the old man" to me. Since then I have always had a love affair with them. I have a small collection that I grow when money allows. From the top is the classic 119 that's my camp chore knife, next is the buck vanguard a perefct hunting knife it is always on my belt when I am in the field, and lastly my trusty old 110 she is my daily carry and has never let me down. I know there are other knives out there and good ones too. I am no knife expert I just like the classic buck knives. Let's see yours!

What, no Buck 112. That is hard to believe. I've got a customized Buck 112 I'll try to post a picture of. Awesome knife. I prefer the Buck 112 over the 110. Thanks for sharing.

I love those Buck knives, they are been the hunters' choice for 25 years in the row. I have some customs too,but you can't beat the Buck quality/price. I prefere my self the 112 over the 110 but both are incredible folders, the knife I carry everyday on my belt.

I still have a Buck 'General' that is a bit longer than the one shown that I have used for many an elk, deer and javelina over 40 years..
Recently, WalMart had a sale on the 50th anivversary ( 1964) of the Buck 110 locking folder.. I bought one for my eldest son who was getting home from his 2nd tour in Afghanistan, one for youngest son( U.P Railroader..and one for myself..
Very nicely done heavier locking folder..and sharp right out of the box..Nice 50th Anniversary brass emblem on the Cocobolo scales..Hard to go wrong on a quality made US knife for under 38.00..:)Jim

Yep gonna grab a 112 eventually. I want to add a couple of slip joints to my collection to carry with formal wear first. Then maybe a 102' a 103. A few from their custom shop. Followed by eviction for non payment of my rent..... ;)

I have said many times the Protige 450T is the end all knife for our little group of hunters. Don't know why but for a cheap stainless knife it handles deer and hog skinning with the best of knives. It returns to sharp with a few swipes on a A. stone and back to service. Cleans up well after the work is done. I carry a fixed blade or one hand open clip knife to the deer stand but for dressing and skinning chores back at the skinning pole, out comes the 450T. From top to bottom 450T,ultra light 424X and the 110.

I got a 112 first production run ( no model number, no wire notch, "BUCK" stamped upside down on the blade) for Christmas from my parents when I was 14 . Truly the toughest knife I've seen.. cut open cans, cut cable..sharpened right up to hair-shaving. Still wear it in the original leather sheath into the woods , item 3 of 3 on my belt, sliding on after the Mini MagLite in a holster and an original Leatherman. Like others have posted, I like it better than the 110.

I have been using the 102 straight bladed cocobolo handle for years . I like mine so much I went to Gunther gifts.com and ordered up three of the engraved for my nephews and my son. They are sweet . if you are looking to get one engraved I highly recommend them.

I feel ashamed. I pulled out my Buck 560 to look at the model number and found I had not cleaned it since last Dec when I drssed a deer. Full of tallow and didn't smell too nice. Plus side it didn't have any corrosion on it and cleaned up with soap and water. Downstairs on an Arkansas stone and leather strop and it's back like new.

Buck like alot of companies started outsourcing to where ever. ecentlly brought manufacturing back to us. My first knife was a Buck General. more llike a sword to a 14 yr old WVA girl. but hey that was the one I picked out. Out hunting on a very hot October day and killed a (first Spike buck). never gutted anytning at that point. Well , I jumped in with that General and what a mess. Kinda reminded me of that movie Carrie. Yeah good knives.

Horse gal-that's not actually true. They only moved manufacturing of their economy line of knives (aka cheapo 10 dollar at Wally World numbers) to china. All the classics like the 112,110, and 119 ect have remained US manufactured. Nice knives guys!

I've got a few Buck knives but the best blade is that Buck Alpha with CPM S-30V steel. Its far and away the best processing blade I've owned...though its a bear to clean the crud out of the handle.
If they ever put that blade on the vanguard- i'm in

Whats not to like about a quality product from an American-made, God-honoring, family company? I am a Buck Knives fan, big-time. Here is my current favorite, a Buck Lite, I bought in the early 90's. Holds an edge wonderfully and is surgical-sharp. I told my wife one day not to even look at the blade because it might cut her eyeball just from looking at it at the wrong angle! :)

I've been looking at what's currently out thereā¦dozens and dozens of options. When I can bring myself to replace it, it will be another 112.

Have hand buck knifes for 40 years.1976 left the first one next to gut pile,[ Long drag and figured I'd go back and get it]. Stopped back next day and asked permission to go get it and land owner said, hell no,[mad that I got the buck] before dragging deer out got permission from his son to drag onto there property oh well, next one I've had since 1988, lost twice and found with metal detector.

When i was a kid I got a Buck303 for a gift that was in the late 60s still have it! Now I work at Tractor Supply I was really excited to see that we got some Buck knives in stock, till I looked and they were all made in China except for the Bantam lite model! What is ironic is that we have USA made Case knives that are only a few $$ more than the China made ones! Go figure!

Still in my late hunt close to home. Teh opener was crazy wet and windy. did not go out as flooding issues in the snoqualmie vally. Then teh temp dropped and woke up to 4 inches of snow. Went to my spot and watched 30 cows bedded down under Doug Firs. 100 yards from them were to Bulls also bedded down. Got impatient and tried a stalk on 60 or so eyes. I got maybe 10 yards closer and that was that. Back in the morning

Yep , Bean Settelment outside of Morrefield WVA. Teh Buck General strooy I mentioned was near Lost River WVA all in Hardy county. NOt sure what happened to that General but been carrying a PUMA skinner for 35 years. Yes, Buck Knives are manufactured in Idaho. You are right , it was like a sword. Probably why I liked it until I gutted that spike.

I have the same Bucklite as you. Got it about the same time as you did. Been a great knife for me. Field dressed many a deer with that knife. It's my "old friend". Here's a pic of my everyday knife. I don't remember the model number. It's litem handy and easy to open with one hand
