Anyone know how to remove the grip on a fiberglass two piece Ben Pearson 306 bow? I'm looking to refinish the whole bow and would like to do it properly. It appears to be leather glued on a metal sleeve, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks in advance. Casey

I came across this old thread. Nobody responded. Then I thought. Well it was during bow season. Has anybody tried this? I think I would leave the handle alone. unless it was in really bad shape.I wonder how many other threads on here never got a reply. Maybe this is the only one? Kind of rare on here don't you think.

It will come out if you work at it, but they can be stubborn. They weren't glued as that would defeat the purpose unless someone did that on their own. Hold the grip and pull on the top limb and kinda wiggle as you pull...it's the upper limb that pulls from the grip. If you have a buddy, then they can pull. If two of you, tap on the grip area as you pull on it.

Once you get it out, a little powder on the sleeve area can help, or some bow string wax to keep it from binding too tight.
