Fellas, I've been shooting my DAS for the last couple years. Used it at Trad Worlds 2 years in a row. I acquired a terrific Fox Triple crown from a good friend at the same shoot. I sold my DAS to a really nice guy, and that left me time to focus on my LB. I took it outside and shot it the last couple days, and also to the woods hunting yesterday.

I've always had a soft spot for Longbows and wood arrows. Deep down It's where my heart is. I'm lucky to have this bow, and I'm excited to see what the future holds with it. All my eggs are in this basket now, and I've committed to shoot just this bow the rest of this year and all of next.

I'm looking forward to Trad Worlds again next year in Tennessee! It feels right to have a Longbow in my hands with Paul Jalons wood arrows. It's reinvigorated my passion to shoot more. We all should count ourselves lucky to have what we have! Here are some pics and shoot straight!

JeffHale, Looks like a well made beautiful longbow!..Would like some more oics of it..You drawing it..etc.. What are the specs on it? NTN, Draw weight? Your draw length..

In my personal opinion.. TRASH that bow quiver tho..:(

The good longbow..like most good looking women..:) work better when not wearing any accessories or encumberances..:)!..:) Jim

It's a Fox Triple Crown, 68" 45@30 Bamboo and Carbon no glass. Half Micarta, half Cocobolo. That quiver may be an eyesore but it works! I'll get some pics of the riser in a bit. :)

This is my best group from 36 yards today...When I do my part, it's a beautiful thing.

That Fox is a beauty. And kudos for committing to one bow! I agree - carrying a feather-weight, super quiet longbow in the mountains has really spoiled me.

Mo0se -

Moose,

a very sharp looking bow indeed!

I'm curious, in the photos, the belly lam is light colored but there is a very thin outside belly lam that has a darker amber hue to it. Very thin and shiny. To my eye it looks like clear glass, but if it isn't glass, then what is it?

This is my habu VyperKhan. 62" length and draws 57# at my 29.5 draw. The wood is cocobolo with glass stripes. Limbs are triple carbons with cocobolo veneers. This bows handle is the first one made by my brother almost ten years ago. It is a great shooting bow.

Jim,

It's only on there because I'm hunting with it...don't have a side quiver or back quiver. It makes it convenient. :)

From: dire wolf

Didn't mean to diss anyone who likes a bow mounted quiver...:) I have used them and tried them..about 40 years ago..:)

I have gravitated to a belt mounted side quiver..Used one for over 30 years I made and fitted myself so it fits and hangs properly.. On or off in seconds..Will hold more arrows than one should need for hunting or stumping(hunting a week).. Sturdy, weatherproof..quiet..

I just don't like anything attached to my bow..BUT my bow hand..:)..but I am a bit anachronistic..:)Y'all use and do what you want and like..:)Jim

The quiver on the right in this pic has been over 500 miles of wet, rugged country and held broadheads or steel blunt arrows by the thousands..

It is still going strong..I designed it so it hangs by a stainless clamp on my belt..right side.. Stitched up with yellow B50 waxed bowstring ..

I can attach the quiver with arrow nocks to the rear..or for the field stuff..arrow nocks to the front.. I hunt with arrow nocks toward the rear..

Goes on or comes off in a matter of a second for the hunter who needs to crawl thru a hole in the brush..

It's quiet..even when I walk or run..and the arrow nocks are simply accessable for my right drawing hand with motion concealed behind my back if need be..

The black quiver on the left in the pic is an old 60's King field quiver..Similar principle..I just made one out of indestructible oiled waxed Blacksmiths' side leather and hand stitched it so it is a bit longer( I shoot 30" plus arrows) Jim

Here's a Great Northern Critter Gitter. All Osage with an Actionwood core. 58 Inches and 58# @ 28. It is a joy to carry in the woods - so light and manueverable. About an inch wide at the fades and half inch at the tips. Jerry Brumm is a master at making a Trapezoid limb. This bow has become my soul mate!
