I had written several paragraphs about getting this bow,hit submit and POOF!! it was gone, lol
Summary:
I read reports and looked at pics of these bows for awhile before realizing Big Jim only lives about a hundred miles from me. I called and talked to his son who said I could come down and shoot his personal bow to try one. Big Jim let me shoot several of his bows (Buffalo,Thunderchild and a Big Horn) but the lowest weight Thunderchild was 50#and I was looking for 45# He took me into the shop and showed me a few he had glued up and asked me which one I liked the best.....I picked another first, but it was going to be too heavy,so I decided on this one.I don't think the other one could have turned out and better!! Big Jim is a pleasure to work with, discussing options or just talking about hunting,he's just a great guy
I'll post some better pics later!!

Congrats, you have bought a great shooting bow, you'll be pleased. It is very similR to mine that is a left handed bow. Big Jim has a great taste for woods and make fantastic bows.

Great looking bow. I picked up a used 2-piece T-Child earlier this fall, and I'm becoming quite fond of it.
Now go shoot the heck out of it!

Very nice T-child you have there. I really like the B&W ebony with Springbok combo.
And welcome to the tribe! I like them so much I had to buy a second one!

Yep, they're different weights. The one on the left is #52 @ 28", one-piece, rosewood/bocote riser with bocote limbs.
The one on the right is #55 @ 28", takedown, mango wood limbs, bocote riser, moose tips and overlay.
I got the one on the left first, and liked it so much that I wanted a takedown version in a slightly higher weight for hunting trips that will involve some travel in the future.
Can't sat enough about Jim's bows, except that they are very addictive - good luck owning just one!
