What's the best way to remove the old rest and side plate from a recurve? Don't want to harm the finish.

hair drier heat the rest will soften the glue and pull off

WD40 works fairly well. Spray it on let it set for a little while maybe 5 minutes then rub the glue off. DANNY

Hook the edge of the side plate with a fingernail and pull it off. Repeat for shelf. Then use Goo Gone or WD40 to remove adhesive residue. You won't need anything toxic like paint thinner or Goof Off.
