Little late posting this but I will give a few details. Went out with TJK68 for a evening hunt. The leaves were at their peak, sky's were overcast, and the smell of fall was in the air.

I climbed up in what we call the corner stand. Tom and I created a great funnel area there several years ago and the deer took to it right away. Finally got settled in and thought I would take a picture of the GN with the fall foliage in the background. I also exchanged a few text with longbowdave (Dave Yoder) and we wished each other good luck on out evening hunt.

Tom and I always text each other to let each know we climbed and strapped in our stands safely. Shortly there after several deer and turkey made their way by the stand. The deer were just out of range.

Dampness filled the air and a slight sprinkle of rain set in. At about 6 pm I noticed a deer coming off the hill toward my perch. The deer was following the fence line and heading right to the cut and funnel area. At about 18 yards the deer turned and opened up the shot. The GN came to full draw and sent the poplar shaft wearing high back nanners and 145 eclipes broad head was on the way. The deer spun and followed the path it had come from. All was quiet. About 3 minutes later I heard a limb pop and looked up on the hill about 50 yards to see the deer go down.

Just to be on the safe side I waited till dark, slipped out of the stand and met Tom back at the outbuilding. We waited another 30 min. and headed back up the hill in the dark. Sure enough, the deer was still there in the same location and down for good.

Nice shooting Mark. I sure hope you got Tom to help with the drag out. I also think you should buy that Hill he has for sale before he talks me into taking that off his hands. Lol

Great story but are you sure that wasn't your local mail deer?

Thank you everyone. Steve you know you want those bows. Herbie that's funny. I am a haversack convert this year. Didn't want to pay an arm or leg for one. Old Tomcat came through for me. It's a burlap bag that he found at hobby lobby for $7.99 I think. Works great! Anything I want to keep dry, I put it in a zip lock. Beats pulling off your backpack every time you want or need something. Very accessible.

Oh yea JimG. Mine is 47@28. Don't see those poundage very often with these bows. That's why I snatched it up on a trade.
