Just shot a Bear Ausable 64" 45@28, wow this thing is amazing! Workmanship is beaughtiful, grip is perfect, bow is fast and smooth even at my 30" draw! Anyone shoot one of these? Hunt with one? What is your setup? Thanks, Craig

craig, I don't have one but I was impressed with one that I looked over at Denton Hill two years ago. The handle fit me perfectly, so I know what you mean.

Have shot a 40# one bought directly from Bear. It was very good shooter, fast and quiet. Better than my Patriot of same weight. I will get one when I can find a used one.

Trying to save up for a 50#er for my daughter right now.

Not much love? I think that is because the Montana gets all the press because it's more affordable, and probably a better fit for the average bowhunter. The Ausable is a step up for those wanting to maybe get into longbow 3D/target, as well as hunting, or just something with more riser mass and more aggressive limb design.

I have heard that it is more sensitive and a bit less forgiving but at the same time, if done right, a tack driver. Mind you, any bow done right is a tack driver. lol

I have not shot one yet but the comment about "fitting my hand" says it all for me. I understand your feeling, a bow that fits and feels good we tend shoot better also. Glad you found your bow mate. One reason this bow may not get the attention it should is it has "Bear" written on it. A lot of folks think because it does not have some famous bowyers name on it the bow is a dud.
