I read a thread on here about making gaskets for a three piece bow out of inner tubes so I thought I would try it. I'll tell you what I'm super impressed. It made my already quite kota longbow even more quite and they make nice grips too. I highly recommend it. Give it a try. I'm going to make some for my black widow next.

I use them as rub guards under bow quivers that strap or clamp on limbs. Handy things.

You can pull a five inch chunk down to cover the whole grip of your bow. - lbg

I usually go by the local bike shop and get their throwaways. I use them for everything from bow forms to camping. Very handy stuff to have around!

Take a scissors and cut cross-ways to make 1/4 inch wide rings. Best rubber bands you can get. Strong and never break.

Larger truck inner tubes also make good boa rubber for strap on quivers and such too, there is plenty of that roadside for pick up.Ranger bands have endless uses.

Yep....tons of uses for them. I keep 8 or 10 in my go bag all the time. I also have lots of them around my workbench for all kinds of things.

Yup… And you can get the ultra-light tubes or you can get those which are intended to protect against thorns and pinch-flats, so they come in a variety of weights….

I'm a bike rider... in mesquite country, so I always have a few around. I use them to silence buckles on my climbing sticks and treestands and I also make rubber bands out of them for attaching stuff to my back packs

That is a good tip stumpkiller, thanks

I have been using them for bow grips for years. They last long and are inexpensive compared to one Shure-Grip.

They also make a great arrow puller.

can't believe the uses for the bike inner tube. I used one tube for the handle on my stallion, I cut pieces to go on the limb connections, and used it on the torges seats I made. Something else but I can't think of it right now. and I wasn't sure I wanted to pay $5 for one to cut it up, ha.

Chevan - after reading that thread on quieting the bow I did the same thing to my TD. Used an inner tube from an old bicycle tire, cleaned ever thing while I had it apart, changed my brace height and added some new silencers. Everything combined made a huge difference. I'm happy with it.

Good fire starter too. waterproof, near indestructible and you can carry a piece in your wallet

I always keep one for uninvented gadgets. They even make a good slick tab if you use the big airplane tubes. It has the white powder on one side that keeps it slick.

We used to use them for sling shots when we were kids REB

I wish we still could get some stretchy natural rubber inner tubes. When I was a kid some tubes had red rubber. We made all kinds of things, Rubber band guns, catapults, Water ski bindings etc. On a hot summer day we would cut a car inner-tube, tie one end closed and wire a water hose inside the other end. Turning on the water full blast we would excitedly play near while it grew massive and finally burst.

I always thought a guy should be able to make string silencers from a bike inner tube. Some like cat whiskers or some like the Black Widow spiders ones. Never did try it though
