Was sitting up a tree 20 ft. on Public land, when I heard a acorn crunch. Looked back behind me and then saw a sapling start shaking. This guy rubbed it for about 5 minutes. I could barely see him and couldn't make out how big he was. Then he came strolling by my stand, about 14 yards. 5;30 Pm. I "GAVE HIM THE SHAFT". He ran about 50 yards. He died within 3 minutes of when I shot him. He didn't suffer. I will respect him when I say grace, before I eat him. God Bless

When I shot him I heard a WHACK! Sounded like I hit a brick wall. My broadhead buried in the bone of the opposite shoulder . Had to unscrew the shaft to remove the arrow. This is the pic that I took when I walked upon my KILL.. I didn't harvest the deer, I'm not a deer farmer.. I just know that some on here like to know how ones broadhead penetrates in the real world.. Thanks again, Good luck to all..

Congrats - still learning to get the razor finish I love on my simmons but my Safrai 205 grain heads have already put a doe down. She jumped the string at 15 years and thus I hit her high and a little back.... no doubt the big Simmons played a key role in helping me find her. It was a liver shot that hit and exited pretty high - very little blood trail but man when I opened her up I could not believe all the damage. Hoping to get back out this weekend.

Congrats on a fine public land buck!

Great-lookin’ buck, Howard – especially on public land… I'd be happy to see on that size on PRIVATE dirt around here…

Curious, though – looks like about an ideal shot placement, but you said “within 3 minutes”… So did you take note of what you hit on the inside? If you hit the off-side shoulder blade, it could be that the path was just a shade on the high side, but hey, you were there… you oughtta know.

BTW – that bone with the head stuck in it sounds like a pretty cool trophy….. Post a pick if/when you can….

LL, you don't sound PC, I like that...ha ha ha ha, are you trying to tell me you kill't that deer. Next time you harvest something, please bathe, shave and wipe any plasma clean....... If you do have the data, what you hit, how deep into the bone, lungs, bow & arrow weight etc... Tradbowhunting at its finest.

Didn't really examine what organs that I hit. He ran 50 yards, fell over dead. Shooting 48#s Beaman 400s 31" 170 grn.head 475 total arrow weight. Here is another pic, on the angle of the arrow. Didn't take pics of the organs. Next time I will try to.

Your the man Howard, dwarfs my 5 point I killed yesterday morning. I passed on another 5 point about 6:00 this evening.

I got some large bucks on the game cameras so hoping for more good action this week.

Real pleased with the 175 gr Treesharks, large entry and exit, buck went about 40 yards.
