If anyone could tell me what bow this is, the kind of string i should use and a proper brace height i would be very grateful. I picked it up for what i consider to be pretty cheap but the seller didn't know much about it and from the google searches i have done i have gotten a lot of mixed info. Any help would be great : )

It's a 64" bow.
Measure the string you have, looks ok, it should be 60".
A guess at brace would be 7 1/2" or higher.
Twist the string up to make it shorter.
#20 bow, try some 1616 aluminum arrows.

I cant figure out why but every time i release and shoot an arrow the bow has really bad recoil. I know this isnt right and ive taken the brace height from 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inchs. Im not sure whatelse to do. Should i get a different string? I cant find any info on this bow anywhere

Looks like you might need some silencers on the string? That would dampen out some vibration. Its only a 20# bow.The string might be a bit too fat with too many strands.I would try a 10 strand or 12 strand B-50 or B-55 string.Or maybe a 8-10 strand FF string with built up loops. I think your brace hieght is in the ballpark anywhere from 7.5 to 8.5 on the 64 inch bow. Hopefully the tiller is good on that older bow.It probably is.But if its out of tiller it could shoot objectionably. Hoyts are nice bows

Fat dacron strings will make it bounce. If you can, get an eight to ten strand B-50 string for it so you don't have so much mass that is simply wasted energy on a light bow like that. I wouldn't put string silencers on it, that would just make more weight and it's not a hunting bow anyway.

That site only sells fast flight strings now. no D50 or polyester type strings. I dont think this old bow can use fast flight
