Out here in Chicagoland, a guy on Craigslist has four, NOS in the box, t/d recurves. I've never seen one before. Were these bows any good? I think they're 40#, 60" amo.

Yes, it will be Shakespeare QT, a great bow!

What is he asking for them?

They have been averaging right around 100-110 on eb recently

The early ones were made (riser) by Phil Grable, then Owen Jeffery started making them. Phil's risers were normally black, and Owen's were green. The pivot was different as well. Both shoot very well. Surprised you never heard of them. They came about in the early 70's. Jeffery kept the bow awhile after he took over what was left of the Shakespeare company and took the equipment to his Columbia factory and sold it as the QT takedown. He and Tom still use some of that old equipment I believe. I've owned several of them, even had Mike at Maddog make a set of limbs for one.

There is one on Ebay now as well, could be the same fellow? Here's a link to Larry V.'s blog about Shakespeare.

Are these warfable? I've missed some opportunities to pick one of these up the last few years.

I don't know why they wouldn't be. They don't have a limb bolt on the front though....just a separation that the limb slides into. Probably could use that aspect for an ILF limb.

I did know that about Owen Jefffery and I remember the ad for the QT takedown in the 1980's hunting magazines. Learn something new everyday.

These are green metal risers, knurled metal bolts on the front, 40#. I've never run across them, which isn't surprising to me as I don't like 3 pc t/d's. BP 2 pc. Are the only t/d recurves I've ever liked.

He wants $120.00 each.

As George mentioned above, the ad on craigslist is the same as on ebay. He only has two left at this point.

Yes, that is a Jeffery riser. They are great shooters but at 56" they tend to tighten quickly after 27/28 inches. Never a problem for my draw but something to consider.
