I picked up a used Autumnwoods Archers Anorak at the end of last season. While it's not quite cold enough to wear it yet I find that the Versatech liner in it is too noisy for my liking. Anyone else find it noisey and what would you recommend wearing under it to quiet it down. A wool shirt didn't do it.

Have you tried wearing fleece under it? That liner is full-on waterproof/windproof so it is bound to make some noise.
Is it noisier when it gets cold?

Fleece is a little better but not much. I just got off the phone with Autumnwoods. They know the liner is a bit noisey but feel it's a trade off because it is waterproof & wind proof. They said that there really wasn't anything I could do to quiet it down. Guess I'll just use it on those cold and windy November days.

i think high pitch and short freqency noise is most alarming. like brush sliding on a nylon coat. twig snapping. for me i dont like noisy stuff because it effects my own ability to hear. ...ron

Fred...how's the season going? I had the same problem with those Cabela's wind breaker sweaters a few years back. Got rid of the sweater and bought an ASAT Bomber Jacket with Holofil. Super light, very warm. I only wear ligth wt thermal, then a heavier thermal top underneath.
Like you, not cold enough to wear it but much quieter. Right now, I wear heavy fleece with the thermals. LIke today...damp, chilly but I stayed very comfortable. Keep in touch....Joe
