Whenever I go out to practice shooting whether I'm target shooting or stump shooting, I shoot in a standing, squatting, kneeling position, whatever scenario I think I may be in while hunting.

But, I've neglected to practice from shooting from my chair in a shooting position here lately. I know better, but just haven't done it much lately. Sure makes a difference.

I almost always am in a sitting position when I shoot whether in a stand or on the ground. It does pay to practice! Regards.

I notice when shooting from a sitting position my draw length is 1/2" shorter. No big deal, just thought I'd mention it. Frank

I practice and shoot sitting with my but sitting right on the ground. It comes in handy when hunting in some situations. I tend to shoot low in this position. My guess it is from canting the bow more then normal and maybe a tiny bit shorter draw. Practice all positions; it make a difference.

When i taught my bro-in-law to shoot, he was very good. Then we went hunting. Two years in a row he got a shot at a deer but was sitting flat on the ground. Completely missed both deer. Practice as you hunt.

Yes, practice as you hunt. Prior to my antelope this year I practiced from a chair for over a month. It sure paid off for me.

Other than the standing position,I shoot better kneeling or squatting than I do sitting in a chair.

I hunt of a stool so I practice shooting from it. Seem to shoot a little better than standing.

Frank you are right on the loss of draw,an you also have a different string angle to deal with from a treestand.I try to remain in sitting position for the least amount of motion. Gary

Thanks to CD, I practice shooting from this stool. This was my blind for my opening day doe. It has my hatchet and gatoraid in a pouch. I like to travel light.

That was one thing good about our bowhunter shoots we used to have. I'd set a couple tree stand shots and always at least one sittin shot. Other shots sometimes couldn't be made at all without kneeling. Some complained about dirty knees but everyone was ready for deer season.

I practice sitting all the time when it gets close to hunting season.
