A friend just picked up a Stemler Stalker. It is 54" long and is rated 55# @ 28".
Does anyone know anything about these bows? We set it up and it is very quiet, though not as heavy on my scale as the bow is suppose to be.

Stemmler made archery equipment from the 1920s into the 1980s. New York based company, started out in Queens I believe and later moved east to Manorville, here on Long Island where they made their last bows. If you look on the Archery History site, there are pictures of some nice looking exotic wood recurves. Mostly I think they made a lot of low end and fiberglass bows. We had some in our school's archery program, red glass, so probably the first bows I shot as a kid.
