Well, the "Booner" squirrel escaped, but winged, clean miss on the 2nd shot! Any "Boom" and Crockett (my young son coined that term) animal will make a guy shake in his boots! Gotta chase that little white ball today! Y'all have a good week and GOD bless our still great country!

Off today, so an early shot before all the "honey-dos". Nice weather, but still getting into the low 80s each day. Rain tonight and for the next two days, then a cool down. Maybe we will get to hunting temperatures soon.
Shot as called. 17 yards, kneeling. Black Widow PA and a 2213 with a 145 gr point. First shot took care of business.
Nice doe shot by Jim C,longbowforlife, yesterday. Good job Jim!
Thanks for the call CD. Great day to all.

FS as called, sitting. It's rained almost every day for a month now - the yard is too wet too kneel !
The gray "squirrel" was headed up the tree, and I was hoping for a head shot, but he wasn't going anywhere after my shot !
Used my Stahl Rose Oak 62" Ocelot and 32" Paul Jalon woodie.
Thanks for the call CD.

Thanks for the call CD. I had to shoot my 1st shot from the stand this morning. I decided on a mushroom, that I thought was a leaf. It was tight between a lot of stuff. Actually I thought it should be deflected but it made it through on line and did tick something making it about 3 inches high but still online. It gave me good confidence for the morning sit but nothing showed up. Tomorrow morning will be the same. I will try to remember my camera. Squirrel opener tomorrow but I have good deer on my camera in the evening and morning so deer is the primary target.
Good shooting everyone.

Much cooler in Illinois today, about 55 degrees, nice! I got out the 1953 Kodiak K-4, 59# with a tapered 55-60# spine Douglas Fir arrow. Down on one knee, shooting for the lower dot on my broadhead target, the first arrow was way high and right. Way to stink it up! Thanks for the second chance today CD, that one got it done. Whew!

I got a late shoot in today. First shot was low. Thanks for the second! I was having an "off" day. Lots of stress today at work.
I need to work on release and not dropping my bow arm.
By the way my bow is a Striker TDL 58" 51# @ 28" in mountain camo. I am shooting tapered Doug Fir shafts 50/55 from Surewood with 190 tips.
