could have been hurt, shot, hit on his right side last year. Injuries cause these types of abnormalities.

When I first started using game cameras years ago I had a photo of a small buck 3 points on the left side and had a spike antler between his eyes.

for some reason an injury to one side of the body causes antler abnormalities on the opposite side of the rack.

Not a non typical. Rather a buck with a deformity. Frank

Try not to stare at it when you're talking to him.

Possibly a past auto accident that broke the skull and when it healed the antler petical(sp) was on the side of the head.

I would not have belived an accident like this could be survived until I shot a one horn buck one time that had the left broke off at the base and the right antler was only held in place by hide!! Totally cracked skull - antler was loos and I cut it off with my knife leaving a hole you could see brain through. Antler base was attached to about 2x2" of skull plate. Buck showed zero sign of pain or effect prior to the shot and all I can imagine is an auto accident.

I believe Bushbow is on it. While there is a strange connection between opposite side injury and odd antler growth, look at the way the antler comes out of the skull, I'd bet that that young buck got rolled by a car/truck when a button buck or maybe this Spring, and his skull plate bone is a little messed up.

Notice how the antler is closer to eye level.

Years back, my dad shot a buck almost exactly like this and it's skull plate had an obvious injury that busted it up.

Here's one I saw spotlighting last year. He stood about 15 yards off the road long enough for me to get a pic. He had a big body and looked completely healthy. I think he was an older deer, just didn't grow lots of antler. In this instance I don't think he was injured ever unless he was hit by a car and it rattled him on the inside.

You must need special permits to take pictures in Chernoble.

Not much for points but a great inside spread!
