Would anyone know if Kangaroo hide in this form could be used for shelf/strike plate material, or maybe tabs or even handle wraps? Is this price in the ballpark?

Thanks!

Why? There is no advantage to kangaroo leather over cowhide. If no one else bids, you will have over $45 in less than a sq ft. Cowhide is much cheaper.

Runner- that's what I heard about Kangaroo; been looking for some loose Cordovan for tabs & maybe strike plate material but the 'roo strops caught my attention. No biggie, of course.

Thanks for responses.

Yeah roo skin makes good leathers for sure. I made tabs from roo leather in the 70 's. They lasted about 5 years. Cordovan is about the same ,probably a bit better. The only roo I use now is my roo skin quiver. The roo tail makes an awesome strap. I trimmed the top with a fox skin cape using the head as a decreative feature. Until synthetics came in roo leather was the premium choice for soccer boots. Roo works ok. OSR

Sounds like a lot of money for something that would do a slightly better job, if at all.

The best most durable gloves I've ever had were kangaroo. Got them at Cabellas so doubt its been banned in the US.

My favorite pair of CCM Tacks hockey skates were made of kangaroo hide. It was tough and conformed to your feet better than anything else. I remember kangaroo hide was not available in the late '70's. It would probably be good for handle wraps. Skeet
