Foggy and cool this morning. A lot of moisture from the gulf storm. Will rain later and for the next couple of days, but atleast we are not getting the flooding like they are further south and west.

Shot as called. One of those mornings where everything felt right. 15 just under the spade, 20 just over center, 25 top edge of the card. Since it felt so good, I just couldn't resist throwing in a 30; good height, just right. Should have been in the stand this morning. Black Widow PA and 2213s with 145 gr points.

Thanks for the call CD. Great day to all.

Clearly I need more practice to shoot in the same league as most of the shooters here. But, here they are: bottom is 25, middle in the vitals is 20 and high is 15.

Schafer Silvertip and cedar arrows.

Our friend and shooting companion cowboycop (Eddie Pruitt) passed away about 4:00 this afternoon. A friend of his called a short while ago to let me know.

My FS today was with a bow CBC gave me at our CTA club shoot Saturday before last. It's a Ben Pearson Cougar 5040, about 52# at my DL. Eddie thought I would enjoy restoring it and gifted it to me since it was the first time we met and got to shoot together. It will always be a special bow now. Rest in peace CBC.

Bitter sweet news today. The miracle of a new life in a beautiful granddaughter for HBK and the passing of CBC. Makes you realize just how precious each life is and that we are here for just a short time. Both the joys and the sorrows of life are all part of God's plan.

Congratulations HBK, condolences to those CBC left.

Late getting in FIRST SHOT. Out of the pickup and right on to the tractor after work... had to get the mowing done first. Hacked the 15 yard arrow to the right.... knew it before it hit. Kept pulling on the 20 yard and it was good. Really bore down on the long one and it came closest to center. All shots kneeling. Could have been a nice group... save for the slackin' on the first one.

All our best Compadres, and glad to be here;

Bill

Posted the shot and sent a couple PMs before reading through the whole thread.... really sorry to hear. Well said Mr. James... don't think the Padre could have said it better.

Respectfully; Bill

Congratulations HBK! Beautiful granddaughter!

I read about cowboycop before shooting my FS. I missed the prayer request and was not aware of his heart attack. I am fairly new to trad archery and the FS. From day one cbc encouraged me especially when he could tell I was struggling with accuracy (which was almost every post). I had elbow surgery soon after I met him on line and he insisted on sending me a light weight bow so I could shoot once I was through therapy. He barely knew me then. He sent my brother (Staggerwing) and I t-shirts from the 2012 World Championships just because of his kindness. I have told my wife numerous times I wanted to get down to Brevard, N. Ca. and meet Eddie and his side kick Buckshot. I never did. Life and friendships are precious and worthy to be cherished. I know Eddie believed in Jesus Christ as I do and I will get to meet Eddie in Heaven some day soon. Will you be there?

My FS was as called and in honor of cowboycop. Until we meet again friend!

Getting in too late from work to make the shot. Lots of beautiful comments about Eddie. He was a true gentleman, and will be missed. God's grace and peace for the family.

God Bless! Big John

Oh wow, I'm sorry for the loss of CBC Cowboy cop. I was to anxious to shoot, and did not read any of the posts since early morning. prayers out to friends and family. Job 14.5.... the days of our lives are numbered, no negotiation.

From: CD
Date: 18-Sep-14

I just read the news... I did not know of CBC's heart attack prior to a few moments ago.

This is a sad sad day. We have lost a great man. I never met him in person, and I always wanted to meet him. That will have to wait until another time and place. My prayers will be with those he left behind. But I am comforted knowing he was a Christian.

And in Eddie's words, stay strong AMERICA.
