What quiver do you guys suggest? I have a slide on but I have trouble with it vibrating loose when I shoot 10 or so times?!?! Is there a way to fix that or is a strap on quiver the way to go? Thanks guys

I have 2 hip quivers, nothing fancy, green camo paturn, holds 5-6 arrows with broadheads in a line. I wear it over the shoulder, it has a leg strap as well. The label says Neet.

if a (selway) slide-on is vibrating loose, it is either the wrong one for the bow (recurve quiver installed on a longbow) or, not installed correctly. I and others I know have been using them for decades and never had one vibrate loose.
what is the make of the quiver if not a selway? can you post a photo of it installed on the bow?

I will post a picture tomorrow, I have heard you can put dish washing liquid around the limbs to get the quiver further down the bow limbs. I may not be pushing it down far enough!?!?!?

In general, a well made slide on quiver is more secure than any strap on system. If you can hold off for a few months, I'll be making the best bow quiver for us traditionalists. It makes all strap on and slide on systems obsolete.

I like a strap on! That just didn't sound right! But anyways, I can take it off without unstringing my bow!

If it is a Selway, like Elkhuntr said, make sure it is the correct quiver for the bow, then after you slide it down to where it is almost snug, put a small amount of either dish soap or liquid hand soap along the inside edge. Use a wall corner and carefully push rubber end while rocking the quiver hood or arrow holder. The quiver should seat down well over the limb wedges. Use a damp cloth and wipe off excess soap from the limbs. The rubber grippers will look slightly stretched and the quiver will be locked in place. Once installed this way, you will have to use a wall corner and rocking motion in reverse to remove the quiver.

i have both and really never had trouble, Just make sure you get the slide-on down as far as you can. The soap trick sounds good but I wax the heck out of my bows so it's slippery already.

Depending on bow. I have both the Selway and Great Northern strap on. On the bow I'm using now I'm a G.N. fan. Easy on and off. And I never have problem with it coming lose, and straps will last along, long time. (well over ten years and they are easy to replace))

I have a strap on quiver too I put it just below the fades, the straps stretch some so when you tighten the straps they get pretty tight.

I got a GN strap on quiver on a ow btrade. I eventually gave it a try. Now it is my go to quiver over the slide on. Reason- it is quite a bit lighter and never moves. And I can move it to different bows real easy, recurve and longbow.

The problem with both slide on and strap on quivers is they will loosen over time. Much of it depends on the bow the quiver is attached to and the person doing the attaching. Gravity works on the lower unit. Being knocked around and dragged through brush can work on both upper and lower units. Rubber also wears. When I designed a quiver, I decided what was needed was an attachment system with far greater holding power than either a slide on or strap on system. It also has to be foolproof. In other words, an idiot should be able to secure the quiver, and there shouldn't be a big aftermarket business in replacement parts. In a few months, such a quiver will be a reality! Keep your ears and eyes open folks! The man known by little kids as the Second Coming of Fred Bear has got something in the works!

Now that you mention it, there were several posts awhile back about an aiming system that was so foolproof anyone could shoot deer at 40 yeads with just a few practice sessions. The book was going to be out any day. Variations of this post went on for some time. Frisky, was that you? Did you go to print yet? Be out about the same time as your quiver comes out?

LOL! About time I got a few responses.
No, it wasn't my aiming system. I don't aim. Don't have to with my bows. They're aimless bows.

Sure sounds like the STAR method to me! A bunch of horn tooting with no results! Somebody's been downwind of Hormels too long!

I'm not the STAR guy, lol! I don't have that level of ability. My expertise is in choosing the finest bows in the world and in making the finest equipment, not shooting form.
