So our First Shot this morning required shooting between a couple of "trees"...just got home and decided to try a couple more shots...well one of my trees had blown over a bit so the gap is no longer about 6 inches...I hit the left hand "tree" with both shots...the first still ended up hitting foam in front of the shoulders...the second penetrated the "tree", bounced of the aluminum ladder, and went for a bit of a wild flight hitting the fence in the background and still having enough energy to bury the point in the soft ground...the arrow, at GT Trad with brass insert and a 200 grain field point still appears to by unharmed although I am not going to shoot it until I have given it a thorough examination...I am a believer in a fair amount of FOC, heavyish arrows and 55 to 60 pounds of draw weight...not exactly sure what those two shots prove but I think I am on the right track, recognizing of course that I would never take a shot like that at a live animal

This is a real aluminum ladder...notice the shiny groove where the point bounced off...from the sound of that I was fully expecting to find a rather badly damaged arrow

I was originally thinking the "trees" were boards and was thinking, "Who is this guy trying to fool saying he shot through a 2 by 12?". I guess the lesson is don't hit the trees. :^) God Bless
