He has been out of the bow scene for a while. He built some really nice bows when he was still in business.

I have a couple of his selfbows, he was one of the very best.

He built a longbow called a Cane dragon. It was an all wood and bamboo laminated longbow. It had no glass on the back or belly. It was a reflex deflex longbow.I would call it a mild R&D that would string into a D shape.Thier very nice bows and shoot very well.

He also built an all wood/bamboo laminated recurve, selfbows and exotic Assyrian style bows somewhat like Saluki's.He used to attend traditional bow shows many moons ago and had his products on display. He was a talented bowyer in my estimation.

Yeah on the business side he was bad. He was a member of CTA when my son and I were members. Vinson had a used bio that had a price of $150. I put a deposit of $50 and told him I would finish paying for it at club shoot the next month. He sold the bow claiming he forgot our deal so I asked him to just apply the $50 to one of his flint knapped knives with a buffalo rib handle. I never got the knife. He had his girlfriend call me about 4 or 5 years after the bow deal with her telling me he was making things right with previous customers (he was notorious for taking deposits on new bows and never building them). That was in '04 or '05. Still never got the knife. As far as his bows are concerned they are some damn fine wood bows. I always regret never getting the one I was supposed to get from Vinson Miner.
