Looking for other AZ traditional Bowhunters to get together and shoot and and talk hunting. I live in the Mesa area let me know if you want to meet.

Howdy Kent, my name is Robert, I live in Globe, Az, about 70 miles from Mesa. pm me if you want together, we'll do some stumping or go out to the range, it's only about 2 miles from my house.

Where do you find a stump in Az ? Aren't 't they all petrified?

From: robert
Date: 16-Sep-14

Dead yucca, when they fall over they look like lying down deer or javelina.

Date: 17-Sep-14

Sounds like we're getting a go group , let plan a meet and great and shoot some where. How about some ideas??

From: SB
Date: 17-Sep-14

I'm guessing Yucca is a lot easier on arrows that the rock hard Oak stumps around here!

From: robert
Date: 17-Sep-14

The yucca is arrow friendly, if you miss however you can mess up an arrow pretty quick.

Even though there are plenty of traditional shooters in the southern Az area, Ive found in the past that getting them together is harder than you would think. They seem to be spread out. Im in Tucson and would like to meet up and get a shoot going. Frank.

There is a few of us here in Globe. Looks like about 10 us of have responded to this thread, I would think each of us have a friend or two or even more that would like to get together for a shoot if that's what you want to do, or whatever you guys would like to do. If you guys are like me, as long as it involves a stickbow of your choosing and quiver full of arrows, I'm game.

Sounds like there are several of us Trad guys in AZ that would like to get something going. It seems though we are pretty well scattered in AZ. What do you guys think of arranging a get together shoot in the Phoenix area this month? I am open to any suggestions. -Azdriheat-

From: robert
Date: 17-Sep-14

If we get something going I will certainly try to make it. I'll try to get some of the other guys from around this area to go too. I don't know much about Phoenix, I just know it's big.

Hi Robert - to get things started, there are probably 2 or 3 of us from Tucson that would travel to Globe for a start-up. When would work best for the guys in Globe? -Joe-

From: robert
Date: 18-Sep-14

I'll let you know tomorrow, it's a little late to call the guys tonight. Hey you guys down in the valley of the sun it looks like something is getting ready to happen. Need your thoughts and ideas.

Usery has a nice facility as well with multiple courses. I'm currently a trad shooter without a trad bow I don't expect y'all would tolerate my bare bow Oneida? Regardless I'd like to meet and greet.

Up here in Globe we have 3 rounds one which is a 3d round with about 16 targets, the other 2 are the old field rounds, we also have a smaller 3d round with 8 targets and we have a place setup where you can shoot out to 100 yards or more at 4 or 5 old 3d,s. We are centrally located between Phoenix and Tucson, I think that Globe would be the shortest trip for everyone, I know it would be the shortest for me. There would be some dates that we can't use the range because of work parties and shoots, I'll post those dates shortly. +

I'm in Robert, probably 3 of us from Tucson. Most any day next week will work for us. -Joe-

We have a work party on the 20th and one on the 27th and a shoot on Otc. 4th, and of course a howloween shoot on Otc. 30th. there might be other things going on. I'll find out tonight. Hey are you guys from the valley in also, I hope so, we would like you to come on up. we'll have a goood ole time. Let us know what you all think.

In my other life I was stationed at Davis-Mo.AFB in Tucson, helped build the range on base. Anyone if it is still there?

From: robert
Date: 18-Sep-14

Some of the guys from Tucson might know, I don't know, I've only shot at our range in Globe and some in Showlow and out at San Carlos.

Well guys it looks like any date except the dates listed above are ok. I talked to the club president (who also shoots traditional) he said we can do whatever we like with in reason, so lets get a date or dates set so we are all on the same page. Myself and some of the guys from around here have been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and it sounds like you guys have been wanting it too, so lets make it work, what do ya say. All we need is a date and a time and place.

Well here's my 2 cents. I'm kinda booked with work right now but, when these temps get out of the triple digits I would like to meet for breakfast and shoot somewhere.

My thought is to meet some local guy's close to me in the east valley and shoot at the Usery Range. If we try to get a large group together right off the bat, it won't happen. With a small group meet & greet maybe we could make plans to carpool to another groups stomping grounds. Thoughts? John

Well guys I'm ready to go, other than my newly injured shoulder, it's not real bad,, and I can still shoot so when any of you all want to shoot just pm me, we'll do it however you like, whatever it takes. Talk to ya all later. Robert
