A friend just picked up this Drake Hunter so I thought I'd post some pics. It's a beautiful little bow and it was all I could do not to take it home. If this bow was built in the late 50s early 60s I'd say Harry was ahead of his time. Sweet shooter. Any info on this bow would be appreciated, it's hard to find much on them.

I got one coming as well but its one of Ed's repos. She's a purty stick too.
Whats the spec's on yours Steve she is looking good. I'd sure like to find a real one not heavy under 55. Might find a hen tooth first though.LOL

Hey Cat, this one scales 45@28. I think all of this model were 54" as near as I can tell. I need another bow like I need a hole in the head so I didn't buy it but it was tough not to!

It has the grip shape of the late 50s bows. Looks like a refinish. I would have passed due to the holes drilled in it, but it sure is a beauty! The holes disqualify it from Grail consideration. My Grail is still on top of the world.

Hey Frisky, the holes actually are factory indentations for a Bear quiver. I thought they were holes as well till I looked closely.

Not mine. Belongs to camodave. I've shot it real nice. Those marks are comon for that era. So I am told. Could be the nicest bear bow. Cameron

From what I've been told, I'd say this is a late 50s Hunter-Flite. It's in a great poundage too, as many were made heavy. I would say it's a keeper!

Calling that Drake bow second to none is being conservative...pretty clearly the man was the clear leader in bow construction and design of his time...I will post some more pictures of my Kodiak Deluxe, which would have been a tough bow to make and looks great, but it clearly does not have the sophisticated peformance design features Harry Drake included

That bow looks familiar! I was stopped about 10 times for it at Denton. Decided to put it away as I couldn't go anywhere without being stopped.

Yep, when I got mine, my neighbor took one look and tried to get me to sell it to him! He yelled, "That's a great bow!" They are works of art. Elegant is the word. Truly the Holy Grail of Bows.

Beauty bow. It's mighty hard to walk past glossy Brazilian Rosewood, mighty hard.
